The Garden Room
Gordon, NSW, Australia
The Space
A heritage listed property of rare cultural and horticultural significance, available for exclusive hire of its exterior grounds. Designed by architect William Hardy Wilson and developed across several decades from 1913, the estate reflects a considered fusion of Eastern and Western design, intimate garden rooms, geometric pathways, and structures arranged in careful visual harmony.
The grounds centre on a camellia and azalea collection of international significance, largely bred on site by the original owner. Mature trees frame clipped topiary, flowering borders and stone pathways that move through a sequence of distinct outdoor spaces, each with its own character and scale. A Chinese-style pavilion, a free standing library, a teahouse and a covered loggia and verandah at the front of the house offer varied shooting environments within a single location.
A flat rear lawn, flanked by the pavilion and library, accommodates large gatherings and productions. A front garden pavilion is well suited to ceremonies and intimate events. The site also includes a water feature and a covered loggia providing weather protection for shoots and events alike.
A singular location for editorial, campaign, event and film work requiring established gardens, heritage architecture and an atmosphere that reads as quietly timeless.
