Estate / Mansion
Abbey
Camperdown, VIC, Australia
The Space
Originally built in the 1840s, this stunning estate underwent significant enhancements in the early 1900s, transforming it into a sought-after venue for entertaining during the 1920s.
Extensively restored and beautifully renovated, the homestead now stands as one of the finest rural estates in the state. Constructed around 1853 by William Adeney, Abbey is nestled into the bank of Lake Colangulac. The original design is attributed to Geelong architects Backhouse and Reynolds, showcasing unique architectural features.
The property includes three rooms below ground level—currently utilized as a bar, cellar, and a bedroom—that once served as servants' quarters. The ground floor boasts two additional bedrooms (now a sitting room and library), a spacious living room, and a dining room, with a kitchen wing extending to the south.
Ideal for events, shoots, TV or film series, Abbey Estate combines historical charm with modern elegance and luxurious grounds
